Concealed handgun permit: Instructors

Per CRS 18-12-202.7

“Each Sheriff shall verify as a firearms instructor a person whose principal place to conduct firearms training is in the Sheriff’s county…” If you are an instructor and your principal place to train is within Lincoln County, you will need to complete and submit the following documents for verification: Verified Instructor Application, Instructor Certification of Compliance, copy of current COLORADO CHP, copy of COLORADO DL, and a copy of your certification as a firearms instructor. The Sheriff’s Office will accept applications by email, mail, or in person at the main Sheriff’s Office location at 103 3rd Avenue, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Once you have been verified by the Sheriff’s Office, your name and expiration date will be listed on the Sheriff’s Office website as required by statute. Proof of verification will also be mailed to the address you provide at the time of application.
